Payment processing is not a new topic for most of our readers. We’ve supported credit cards and direct debits from our early days, and automated payments have been one of our most used features all this time.
Some weeks ago we told you a bit more about the differences between manual and automatic payments, and today we want to tell you a little bit more about Stripe, a service we’re in love with! Stripe wants to make it easy for businesses to accept card payments — replacing the need to have a merchant account and to use a payment gateway — and that can only be a good thing.
Stripe provides an easy way to take credit and debit card payments online, and handles everything from security to daily transfers to your bank account. Stripe is also great at pricing, has a appealing and intuitive interface and is really fast to get started with — while with most other payment processors you’ll need to send over paper and prove your identity and your solvency, Stripe uses information in the Internet to find whether they’re dealing with a real person, saving you lots of paperwork time.
We rolled out Stripe for our customers in Canada and USA in March, a little after that Stripe expanded to the UK and Ireland, and ever since then we have been waiting for them to start businesses in other countries.
Here’s where the great news comes in: Stripe is now available in Beta in Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, The Netherlands and Spain! If you want to give it a try, all you have to do is drop us a line at support@cobot.me and we’ll get you a Stripe beta account.
