Recently, we were invited by SmartWork to join the 4th Belgian Work Association (BWA) conference and we were thrilled to accept that invitation. If you have visited Belgium before, you may have heard of SmartWork as they offer coworking spaces in Liege and Brussels. SmartWork is also a board member of the BWA. The Belgian Workspace Association is a national association representing providers of flexible workspaces in Belgium. Their members and locations are spread all over the country.
So we jumped at the chance to support their 4th annual meetup to connect with the Belgian (co)working scene and of course to learn more about Flemish Mechelen.
On a nice September day, around 150 attendees gathered at Re-Flex, the conference’s venue. The program was focused around talks, workshops and presentations. As most of the visitors represented corporate companies, we were excited to see how coworking piqued interest as one of the new concepts around flexible workplaces. We even had the opportunity to share our own experience with the audience by presenting how Cobot can organize daily tasks in coworking spaces, and how we as a company have been growing along the constantly changing coworking world. What we feel was the main takeaway from the conference is that Belgian companies are not only very interested in, but highly innovative and open to modern forms of working. We love to see that and hope we can further support this movement.
And as for Mechelen; the beauty and friendliness of the town definitely charmed us. It is always worth a trip! Besides the coworking opportunities, don’t miss the historical city center with its impressive cathedral. Large areas of Mechelen are UNESCO World heritage sites and Beer lovers can delight in some of the famous local breweries. Would you like to discover more about the Belgian (coworking) landscape? No problem! Brussels and Antwerp are just a short train ride away.
Go check it out and happy coworking everyone!
