Hi there,

This month at Cobot brings a big update to resources with new fields for types and usage modes, area, a smarter overview with filters, and better analytics — with more on the way.

RESOURCES

More powerful resources: types, usage modes, and area

The resource form has been updated with three new fields: resource type (Room, Desk, or Other) and usage (Bookable or Allocatable), and area (sqm / sqft).

Bookable resources work exactly as before — time-based reservations by the hour. All existing resources default to this.

Allocatable resources are new: they mark a resource as exclusively assignable to a team or member, like offices or dedicated desks. Assigning them to teams and members is coming very soon. And you can already start setting your resources up today.

Resource tags and a cleaner overview

Resource categories have been renamed to resource tags — a small change that better reflects how they actually work. The tag overview now shows which resources each tag is applied to, and how many. The Resource Overview has also been tidied up, with units now visible for multi-unit resources, as well as the new type, usage and area properties. There's also a new filter by tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

ANALYTICS

A clearer view of how your resources perform

The Analytics » Bookings page has been fully rebuilt. The old card layout is replaced by a sortable table showing occupancy, number of bookings, average duration, total booked hours, and resource units, both per resource and in aggregate. Much easier to spot what's working and what could be optimized.

Easier navigation in the admin menu

The navigation sidebar had grown long over time. Items are now organized into more logical groups. Most notably, Events now lives under Calendar, alongside bookings and drop-ins. There's also a new quick link to edit Open Hours from there.

BILLING

Tax exemptions for teams

Teams can now be set not to be charged taxes — the same option that was already available for memberships. You'll find it under the Invoicing menu.

COMING SOON

Resource Allocations: a new way to manage offices and dedicated desks

This month's resource updates are just the beginning. The ability to allocate resources to teams and members — making it easier to manage offices and long-term tenants in Cobot — is nearly ready.
